Merry Christmas

It is 5:12am and Santa has long since past. He made it by as is always does.
We are headed for California today. We drive up to Portland to catch a flight to San Jose, CA. We then drive to Santa Cruz to see Jane's Aunt Barb and Uncle Jay. My parents and brother will be there as will Jane's sister and nephew. And Thursday, we head south to Santa Barbara, where we will spend three nights. We are not taking any computer, so there will be no postings until next week. We shot a quick video of Sofia trying to help pack (more like unpack) last night. She had a blast with it.

I hope all of you have a good Christmas.

Cast Footage

She is back and already crawling around!!

Brush Away

Here she is in action

Merry Xmas

We had a great weekend. Sofia has been great through the injury. We took her to see Aunt Shelli and the rest of the family over the weekend. We had a nice time in Bandon. Sofia got to see a great Christmas lights display and her cousins, which she always likes. Her favorite part was the trip into Cranberry Sweets, where she loved all the free samples:)

Sofia gets her cast at 10 this morning. Later on, we have to pack and get ready for the big trip to California. We fly into San Jose tomorrow morning and will spend 2 nights in Santa Cruz. From there we will drive to Santa Barbara and spend 3 nights there. It will be alot of fun and we will certain have some warmer weather!

PIX

She is a trooper--We have an appointment Monday at 10am to get her cast on.

Yes it is broken

Sofia is ok. She took a fall down some stairs yesterday afternoon, which resulted in a broken leg. We took her in last night and she got a split on her left leg. We have to call this specific doctor this morning to get an appointment to get a cast on her leg. She should have to wear the cast for a month or so......FUN STUFF!!!

We got home towards 12 last night and got her to bed. She is still asleep now, but has a tough time sleeping.

I will get and update up later today.

Video is here!!

Well, I finally made it happen. I searched high and low for the CD today that had the driver for the camcorder to be able to download video to the computer. And now we can share video with all of you.

Here is a quick one, it is nothing fancy. I will sort through what I have and share more shortly. The video shown is from August 10th---so it was taken over 4 months ago

7 more days!!!!

For those who are out of the loop--there are very few days remaining until the birthday of someone very special.

We survived the big move over the weekend and made it in one piece. Well, make that about 1000 pieces. We filled up 2 of Uhaul's biggest size trucks-the 26 footer. It took 7 hours to unload both trucks.

We are staying at Jane's parents for a while as we do some work at the new house. Sofia has been a trooper through all of this as she has not noticed much of the chaos going on around her. She is definitely ready to help unpack, as she loves to pull anything out of any boxes.

Hello Eugene!

As some of you may now, we are in the moving process. Well, today and tomorrow we are actually moving. The moving trucks are coming today and we are driving them to Eugene tomorrow morning.

Right now, the house is turned upside down with most it packed up. We had our last dinner in Vancouver last night and we had to eat out as there is no food, silverware, or anything left in the kitchen. Below, you can see the extent of our Xmas decorating for 2007. We will make up for it next year.

Sofia is doing great and moving around more than ever. She has also begun to enjoy writing/drawing. She know what a pen or crayon is for. She colored for the 1st time at dinner and seemed to like it quite a bit.

Tis the Packing Season

As some of you may know, we are in the middle of moving right now. Simply put, it is awful. But we are making the best of it and Sofia is fine tuning her unpacking skills:)

Anyway--the house it torn apart as we are hoping the the big move south takes place this upcoming weekend.

Hole in Nose

Here are a few pix from the weekend. Sofia has discovered something quite magical......she has a hole in her nose.
She noticed it a few weeks back, but the interest really did not kick in till the last few days. We seems to be catching her "exploring" with her finger and she enjoys the fact she found a new thing to play with.

Apologies

Sorry for the lack of updates/pictures from us. We have been busy between Vancouver and Eugene. We are in the process of moving and things are moving at a snail's pace.

For those of you wondering about the greatest baby ever, she is doing fantastic. As i type I can hear her walking and laughing upstairs. She seems to grow, smile, and laugh more with each day that passes. We are very luck that we have been blessed with such a gift.

We are doing a picture session this Sunday with her and we are hoping the weather cooperates. The setting is the same outdoor park area that Jane and I had our engagement photos done back in 2003.

I hope all of you are well. I will get more up as soon as I can.

Walking Alert

Our big big girl now is walking on her own. It is official. After weeks of being very close, she is talking well over 10 steps on her own. Over the weekend, she had lots of practice and loved every minute of it. Last night, for the 1st time she got herself up to take a few steps.

We have some video of it that we will upload as soon as we can find the charger for the video camera.

Quick Hi

Sofia had quite a Thanksgiving feast as you can see. We had to hose her down afterwards!!

She then wanted to do some shopping with the rest of the country at the mall.

Wiggle It

Sofia has not really watched much TV. The longest she would sit was maybe up to 2 minutes for your average cartoon.......

But not for the WIGGLES. We came across it last week and she has been hooked since. She loves to dance -which happens often. The show is filled with music and songs.

It is pretty entertaining to watch her watch TV. From what we can tell, she really likes animals and gets excited when Wags the Dog has an appearance on the show.

We hope everyone has a good Thanksgiving. We will be back in Vancouver Friday night.

Pix Pix Pix

We are now 24 hours after the Santa incident of 2007. Sofia is in good spirits and itching to see the family this week in Eugene. From what I hear--we have almost 24 people coming for dinner. It is going to be a real party. We celebrated a small anniversary over the weekend--we have had our baby home with us now for 7 months, which has been amazing! What a miracle she is and she knows it:)

Santa Time!!

This photo pretty much sums up the Santa visit.

Today Sofia met Santa. She is not too fond of him... We know it's a bit early for Santa, pre-Thanks Giving and all, but we happened to be at the mall today. We tried for a picture of Sofia sitting on Santa's lap, but she was having none of that! When we attempted to put her on his lap... Sofia started screaming, crying, and hitting Santa in the face and yanking on his beard all at the same time. We very quickly moved her and I think Santa might have actually been a bit scared of her after that... He told the girl to hurry up and take the picture when Tim and I jumped in to hold her for the last photo. You can see she doesn't look happy. I'm not sure how many presents Sofia will be getting from Santa this year after hitting him... lol.

Sofia was still happy with Alexis holding her... I don't think she had even noticed Santa yet.

Our very sad girl... even the lollipop didn't help.

Hello Hello

The girls are still sleeping and it is the end of another week. Sofia has had a great week thus far. She seems to be in a lot less pain due to teething, which obviously has made her happier.

She is getting ever so close to walking on her own now. Last night, she sat up and took 3 steps on her own. So she is getting the hang of it. It is amusing to watch as she gets excited when we walk with her, that it turns it speed walking after a few steps. I'm sure in a matter of time, she will just be running around everywhere.

Sofia got some good news yesterday that her Uncle Ken and Grandma are coming to visit next week for Thanksgiving. We are all going to meet in Eugene for a few nights and celebrate with the family.

Well, hope everyone has a good weekend. I will try and get some new pictures up soon.

Monday, Monday

Not much too say about Monday. It never seems to be exciting and everyone seems to just dread Monday's.

Anyway, we had a great day yesterday with a smooth ride down the I-5. We were lucky and got to have Alexis join us for the quick trip. Sofia was a darling in the car and we tired her out all afternoon by looking houses and Home Depot. It took her all but 3 minutes to fall asleep last night when we laid her down.

We are here for a home inspection today and then will go back to Vancouver after work today.

Can you believe it is Thanksgiving next week???

These pix were taken from Saturday night when we made a trip to Ikea and treated ourselves to fro-yo and cinnamon rolls. We got Sofia laughing more than ever I think. She could not get enough of the cinnamon rolls!!!!

Hello....

I've got a few new pix to add----
Sofia was able to take 3-4 steps on her own last night. She has accomplished that a few times now. And she seems content to not really walk too much more than that. I'm sure that will change in in the upcoming days, weeks, and months.

Random thought....

We need to use our video camera much more. We bought it before our 1st visit trip to see Sofia. Since we got back in April, we have hardly used it at all. I had never owned one before that.

We are in Vancouver today, but will go back to Eugene tomorrow afternoon.

Animal Tribute+Weekend Plans (QUACK!!)

Greetings to all!!

Well Friday once again is here and in a real twist of events we are going to Eugene. As some of you may or not know, we are in the process of selling our house here in Vancouver, WA and moving to Eugene, OR.

So we are headed down today after work. We pick up Uncle Ken at PDX and get to torture him with a baby CD that will be played in a loop for the 2 hour drive. Sofia has not seen Ken in a while, so it will be fun to get them together. She can impress him with her new skills of walking and eating everything in sight:)

Since we post 100% Sofia pictures on here--I wanted to give a shout out to the pets of the house. Sorry toonces, I did not have a photo of you.

Happy Halloween!!

Well another big day for our big girl. Little did she know this morning, that later in the day everyone she knows would all be dressed so SILLY.

The day started out as usual, with morning playtime and some good eats. But something was strange in the air and their was much more orange than usual. While S was out and about with Mom, people had on some pretty silly outfits.

As we hinted at earlier, witches was the big theme this year. Not only was the little bug a witch, so was Mom, Aunt Shelli, and cousin Tori. Dad elected not to a be a witch, but a cross between a mummy and Screech Powers.

We had a pre-party at some friends and then it was off in search of some candy. The candy was plentiful and not hard to come by.

Sofia had a blast with her 1st Halloween and is fast asleep now, probably excited for next year.

Happy Birthday Grandpa Norman!!!
