Words are flowing out

It was daddy-daughter day today as Mommy was a painting machine over at the new house.

We started off going to Hiron's, which S always likes. It is a hard place to describe if you have not been there before. They have lots of, umm, junk. Well, I think it is. Other people (like Jane) love the place, as they have lots of cool knick knicks and random merchandise galore. But S loves going there and we had to pick up something at their pharmacy. While we had a few minutes to kill at the pharmacy, we walked next door to the hot dog place. S and I shared potato salad and a big sausage. I don't know which she liked more-but she did get full!!

From there we to check in on Mommy for a quick hello. Then it was off to the famous Eugene Saturday Market. We had a nice overcast 65 degree day--so it was good walking weather. S had a great time listening to the music and sampling different food and drinks. And her new favorite sport is Hacky Sack. She was mesmerized by the groups playing it. And we are in Eugene, so there was alot of Hacky Sack being played.

Oh, and the new words today were down, ucky (yucky), ready, pretty.

When Sofia says Bunny-- it comes out like "bubpy" She also uses "bubpy" to say baby or puppy.

Anyway--enjoy the weekend.

More words

Yesterday we heard her say outside, more, and maybe.
Technically she said maybe this morning about 3am when she was under the impression it was a wise time to be awake.

This is from dinner last night. She knows her wa-wa, which is her water and her ba-ba, which is her milk bottles. There was orange juice in the bottle, thus the confusion began.

A peek at Sofia's week...

This is my new favorite photo of Sofia and Daddy. It makes me smile because she was visiting Daddy on his "lunch". One of her favorite things to do is burst into Daddy's office during the day and squeal "Daddy" totally oblivious to the fact that he may be on the phone. Mama has to watch her pretty close so she doesn't "visit" him too often, because any time she can sneak away, she'll race down the hall toward daddy and interrupt his workday!

Thankfully

The heat has died down a bit, which we really needed. We are quite wimpy up here when it comes to "heat" Anything above 80 and we launch into complain mode very quickly.

The fun continues as Sofia now has her new play spot--the backyard. She can spend hours out there and does not seem to become uninterested with all her toys outside.

We are getting ready for a weekend trip, as we head to Portland on Thursday. We fly to the Bay Area on Friday for Uncle Jimmy's big wedding. We will get to show off our big girl who will get to show off all her motor skills that our friends/family down there have not seen.

We hot 95 today and it was awful!!! Neither Jane or I like it past 80 at all. But anyway--we made it through the day. Here is some video from this evening where we hung out in the backyard. Sofia was running around like normal. She was very helpful (trying) to water some of the plants.

Happy Mothers Day

We had a nice brunch this morning---13 adults, 2 kids, 4 dogs. Thank you to all the mothers out there! Sofia had her play buddy, Taylin come over as well. 

And especially to Jane--without all her hard work, life would not be the same!

Sofia is doing great these days. Her vocabulary keeps growing, and includes the following:

wow,dog,book,blue,bird,bye,hi,mama,dada,look,no,shoe,wee(not quite a word),bath,nana

Her adjustment to sleeping in the crib has been great. She sleeps great and seems to feel right at home in her special crib.

We went to Cousin Taylin's 2nd Birthday party today. Sofia had a blast and wasted no time playing with (o.k. hogging) Taylin's new toys. Note all the pics of Sofia playing with the toys!
